Art Connection was conceived from inspiration to continue service to the community and be a center for others to experience a wide variety of growth opportunities. Launching into reality May 2009 Art Connection began with one and has since spread into the hearts and helping hands of many. Art Connection was created to provide scheduled art classes, free drop in art workshops and cooking classes for children and adults, and is the satellite office of Sierra Dove Global Association, an educational not for profit where all of our programs will be offered. Join us at Art Connection, a creative and innovative art and learning center which solely exists because of our volunteers and the generous support from the community.
"Hot Chile Nights" was a sizzling success and we raised $2,500!! We're now able to pay at least 3 months rent, our winter heating bills, and from our wish list get the necessary electrical and plumbing work completed making is possible to offer more to the community and function to a greater capacity. GMR Electric and Marc Stewart are donating their services to Art Connection to make improvements with electrical wiring, hook up the pottery kiln and install plumbing for our wash room utility sink. Art Connection is growing and as a result we're able to bring more services to the community by the community. We're very excited about this! Inspiring, whimsical workshops for adults and children of all ages. Each workshop is a creative adventure using a treasure trove of materials with instructor, Shelly Brack. Shelly brings to Ruidoso 15 years of free spirited, soulful and inspirational guidance. With a background in expressive arts she will safely support & encourage your individual creative process in a non judgmental environment. Expressive art classes are intended to be a play ground for developing a listening ear and trusting in ones instincts, comfort in taking risks with new ideas, and problem solving while building self esteem and confidence.
Expressive art is the foundation for building skills that are easily translated into our daily lives.

There's NO QUESTION that the generous gifts have allowed us to build a connection to the community of Ruidoso and begin service projects for all people. The local businesses and community members have been so gracious in supporting our efforts with so many people have been effected already, from the beginnings of what we, as a community, have created in Art Connection. The radio station, KBUY, is enthused and inspired by our efforts that I've been asked to teach an art class on air this December on the morning show with Perry. There are now more people contacting me to volunteer for art workshop and teach classes as well as those who want to volunteer for our holiday adopt wishes of children, adults and families in need this holiday season. There is so much happening for so many people and this is just the beginning! People are finding a place to serve and people are being served! We have a lot to offer and it's happened... Because of the community coming together... connecting. Because each person came forward and gave from their hearts Art Connection's pulse is now stronger than ever.
