"All children are our business. We cannot turn our
backs on them because we don't know them
personally nor judge why these children are
homeless. What matters now is that we become
accountable and responsive to these kids because
they are a part of our future."
- Jozef Dominguez
Arts in the Making will be following up its successful inaugural year with
new workshops. We have been welcomed back to A New Day Youth and
Family Services, a residential shelter that serves up to sixteen at-risk
youth who have run away from, or been removed from unsafe conditions at
home. We will also be looking into ways to expand the program
throughout Albuquerque by adding extra venues, or by bringing teens from
other programs into A New Day.

We have wrapped up our Winter 2008 programming and will be returning
in April and May 2008 with a six weeks of arts workshops.
Our
workshops will be held on Sunday afternoons, 2-4pm, April 6 - May
11. We are currently welcoming volunteer visual and performing
artists of all kinds to join our company.
AIM is entirely volunteer-driven
and we rely on the donation of time and supplies to support our efforts.
Quite often, the mere presence of an organized activity and a teacher (whether experienced or not) with a
great passion for their craft can be quite engaging to the kids. Our presence breaks the monotony and
gives the teens a chance to experience something a little different than what had been occupying their
afternoon. These kids love to create and participate. They like to learn new things and have something to
do. They are quite proud of the projects they complete and our ability to encourage their work and praise
their ingenuity has an impact upon them
.

We would love to tell you more about what we do, why we do it and how easy it is to volunteer. Contact
